Congratulations, NCMIC Fit Winners!

NCMIC Fit is NCMIC’s nearly yearlong program dedicated to helping employees reach the peak of their wellness. Anyone can participate but to win, all participants must hit at least three of eight dimensions of wellness that include: emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental and financial wellness.

The 2023 program kicked off last February and ended in late November with a male, female and a dynamic duo named as winners. The male and female individual winners each received $3,000 and each member of the dynamic duo received $1,500. A goal board winner was also chosen via random drawing to receive a $75 Amazon gift card.

After months of anticipation, the 2023 NCMIC FIT winners were Chima Igbokwe (male), Cindy Perry (female) and Diane Miller & Rebecca Strait (Dynamic Duo). Amber Caravan was the 2023 goal board winner.

When asked about their accomplishments, all our winners had something to say. Chima Igbokwe said, “Writing my 2023 NCMIC FIT success story was incredibly meditative for me. I spend so much of my time living in the moment, and trying to figure out ways I can continuously improve. My success story gave me a chance to sit back and reflect on my year, and when I was finished I thought to myself ‘Wow, I had a pretty good year,’ I was extremely honored to find out I had been voted as the male NCMIC FIT winner, and even happier to hear all the people my story helped inspire and motivate.”

“I was stunned when I found out I won! I’m so thankful and grateful to have been selected for the 2023 NCMIC Fit award and plan to use some of the funds for my 2024 goal – hiking across the Grand Canyon!” – Cindy Perry

“I was jumping up and down when I read the great news. I love being Rebecca’s dynamic duo. She helps keep me accountable on days I have no motivation. I plan to use the winnings for an electric bike.” – Diane Miller

Rebecca Strait agreed. “Diane and I have been dynamic duo buddies for the last two years and we finally won this year! It was exciting to win with my duo and I’ve already planned on using the money for additional healthy meal options/plans.”

This year’s voting was extremely close, meaning there were several runners up in addition to our winners. They include: Ryan Hubbert and Patrick McCormick (male - tie), Mandy Waite (female) and Polly Loneman & Lauren Phillips (Dynamic Duo).

The 2024 NCMIC Fit will kick off in February. Details regarding this year’s program will be released soon.
