Bring Your Dog to Work Day is a Howling Success!

NCMIC went to the dogs, Tuesday, Oct. 11, for the first Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Employees were visited by three pups: Hallie, an Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix, owned by Cindy Perry; Brynnlee, a Brittany Spaniel, owned by Sugar Townsend; and Tank, an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler, owned by Heather Angerstein.

Be on the lookout for the next Bring Your Dog to Work Day in the coming weeks. Remember, sign up is required to bring your dog to work and only three are allowed at a time.

Let’s Get SPOOKY!

The 2022 NCMIC Halloween Spooktacular will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 3:30-5 p.m. in rooms 122/123.

Costumes are not required, but highly encouraged as there will be a costume contest, with winners named in the following categories: Best Individual, Best Duo and Best Group

Happy Hour beverages and snacks will be provided as we gather for a spooky celebration.

Hope to see all you ghosts and ghouls there!

NCMIC Recognizes World Mental Health Day

On Monday, Oct. 10, NCMIC acknowledged World Mental Health Day. We take your mental health seriously and will continue to provide opportunities for education, awareness and support. In November, NCMIC will host a lunch & learn that will include open dialogue around these issues as a few employees share their personal stories. Sharing of stories can be helpful to an audience but can also be very therapeutic to the individual.  If you are interested in sharing a personal story of your own or someone you know please email Sheena Mahan

Reminders

  • Stop the Bleed kits have been installed at every AED station throughout the building.

  • Employees who complete all potions of the HRAs (physical, online and signed tobacco affidavit) will receive an additional full day off to use before the end of the year. Note, this additional day has to be used as a full day and cannot be broken into half days. To request this time off, please code it as ‘Other’ in the policy type.

  • Scott Mooi’s memorial bench has now been placed on the back walking path, as well as benches for Cacy Hupp and Marty Schmitt. In addition to the three new adds, the walking path also has benches for Jamie Tigges, Kristi Couchman and Deb Ketner. These past employees are deeply missed by many.
