NCMIC Wins Philanthropy Award
The Central Iowa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has selected NCMIC as the Outstanding Small Corporate/Foundation Philanthropy winner in the 2022 Philanthropy Day awards. The Philanthropy Day awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Central Iowa through their many generous contributions. NCMIC will be recognized on Nov. 18 at the 37th annual Philanthropy Day at the Community Choice Convention Center.
Additionally, Hailey and Riley Gojkovich, daughters of Scott Gojkovich, were named the winners of the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award for their annual bake sale/fundraiser for kids.
NCMIC Shares: Spend, Save or Give It Away?
We asked and you delivered—last month in the newsletter, we asked how you chose to use the gift you received at the biannual meeting, and you did not disappoint. Here are a few of the responses we received about what NCMIC employees did with their gifts.
“I am the saver in my family. I used part of the bonus to make an extra principal only payment on our home mortgage. The rest went into savings. With two boys in college, a little extra $ is always appreciated!”— Jennifer Hauschildt
“I am getting married on 11/12/2022 in Vegas. With the money we got, I paid off our honeymoon in Jamaica. Dennis and I wanted a sunny getaway and chose to go to Sandals Royal Caribbean resort. Sandals is an all-inclusive resort for adults only. The feeling of getting the honeymoon paid off was a HUGE relief and eliminated the anxiety of having to finish paying it off with a credit card. I was in shock and almost started crying knowing that the most expansive part of the wedding would be taken care of without having to pay TONS of interest.
Weddings are so incredibly stressful. I felt so blessed being gifted this money. No more losing sleep. I will get to relax with a margarita on a sandy beach while my new HUSBAND rubs my feet.” — Angela Lopez
“My wife and I bought a new washer and dryer. It was a very generous surprise gift!” — Brendon Snell
