Brenlyn Knutson Recognized as Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
Brenlyn Knutson (pictured), daughter of Melissa Knutson, was given the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award by the Central Iowa Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She was recognized at the 38th annual Philanthropy Day Awards held Friday, Nov. 17, at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. The Philanthropy Day Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Central Iowa.
Brenlyn was instrumental in helping found Give Grace, Give Hope, the charitable organization that provides menstrual products for low income and homeless individuals.
Brenlyn wasn’t the first NCMIC kid to win the award. Last year, Hailey and Riley Gojkovich, daughters of Scott Gojkovich, were named the winners of the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award for their annual bake sale/fundraiser for kids.

Just Another ‘Ruff’ Day at the Office
Whether you’re a dog owner or dog lover, Bring Your Dog to Work Day is still one of NCMIC’s favorite days in the office. During last month’s Bring Your Dog to Work Day on Oct. 17, we met Heather Angerstein’s mini Australian shepherd, Tucker (upper left); Valerie Fouts’ Labrador/border collie mix, Dannie (upper middle); and Tom Catus’ Portuguese water dog, Kaia (upper right). On Nov. 16, we met Sheena Mahan’s mini Bernedoodle, Bailey (lower left); Sabrina Cox’s Aussiedoodle, Cooper (lower middle); and Molly O’Neill’s mini Goldendoodle, Oliver (lower right).
Reminder, you must sign up in HR to bring your dog to work. Spots are first come first serve, and you’re asked to limit it to one spot at a time. If there are additional spots open, HR will send out a communication to all staff.
