NCMIC Earns Top Workplace and Best of Honors

Last month, NCMIC was named a runner up in two categories of the Business Record’s annual Best of poll—Best Company to Work For and Best Company Supporting Local Charities. The Best of awards are voted on by members of the Des Moines business community.

NCMIC was also named one of The Des Moines Register’s Iowa Top Workplaces among mid-size companies with 150-499 employees. This is the sixth year NCMIC has claimed a spot on the regional list.

“I’m grateful for both of these awards, but I’m especially proud of the Top Workplace designation,” said Mike McCoy, in an email to employees. “We received it because of feedback gathered through the Energage survey you took back in April. That’s significant, not because of the props it afforded us, but because it helps understand what we’re doing well and guides us toward the things we can do better to meet the needs of our employees.”

Bring Your Dog to Work Day is a Doggone Success

Bring Your Dog to Work Day has been such a fun way to get to know all of NCMIC’s four-legged friends. Last month, on Sept. 19, we met Tom Riley’s Labradoodle, Bella (top left); Molly O’Neill’s golden retriever, Echo (top middle); and Cindy Perry’s cattle dog/border collie mix, Hallie (top right). On Oct. 5, we hosted Patrick McCormick’s pug, Grady (bottom left); Sheena Mahan’s mini bernadoodle, Bailey (bottom middle) and Mike McCoy’s pomsky, Molina (bottom right).

Reminder, if you want to sign your dog up for Bring Your Dog to Work Day, the list of dates is posted in HR. Spots are first come first serve, and we ask that you sign up for one day at this time. If we are in need of dogs for certain days, we will send out a communication to all staff.
